Other things to consider?
We appreciate making changes, especially to long standing patterns or habits is challenging and can be hard work. We will consider if therapy is likely to succeed by discussing a range of important ‘therapeutic ingredients’ such readiness and if you are able to prioritise therapy in your life at this time.
We also appreciate the fit between you and your Psychologist has to be right. If we believe the best approach for you lies outside our areas of expertise, we will try to help you identify the right professional or service, appropriate for your needs. If you feel our work together is not the right fit, you can request to end the sessions.
Who are we not able to see?
As an independent practitioners, we need to be transparent about the clinical areas where we cannot be of help. Our priority is to provide safe, ethical and effective care.
We are unable to provide crisis or emergency support. If you are experiencing frequent thoughts of self-harm, feeling life is not worth living, or making plans to end your life, please contact your GP or one of the crisis helplines listed here Lifeline or Samaritans
If your difficulties are longstanding, severely affecting your personal care, social and occupational functioning, a Mental Health Multidisciplinary Team may be better suited to your needs. We encourage you to discuss this with your GP.
If you are currently receiving care from NHS Adult Mental Health Services, We will not be able to see you. If you are facing challenges or difficulties with these services, we encourage you to communicate your concerns with them directly.
We do not offer diagnostic assessments for Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) as these assessments are best undertaken by a multi-disciplinary team.
Additionally, we do not conduct medico-legal psychological assessments.
